J'ai adoré ce film, j'ai déjà hâte de le revoir!!! Ma côte est en fonction du fait que c'est une comédie, car je trouve que les bonnes comédies sont très rares!! Humour intelligent, subtil et absurde avec de bons acteurs!! Wow, méchant bon divertissement!! C'est intéressant de voir comment les critiques peuvent être aux extrêmes par rapport à ce film.

Je ne sais pas trop quoi dire, je comprend la note plutôt basse, mais personnellement j'ai bien aimé ce film! Je l'ai trouvé original et rafraîchissant! L'histoire est plutôt amusante, on offre de nombreuses scènes pince sans rire, ce n'est pas une comédie dans le sens où l'on rit à s'en taper les cuisses, mais plutôt dans le bizarre de l'ensemble, le tout rassemble des personnages loufoques, des dialogues étranges, et une ambiance assez unique! À certains égards, ce film m'a rappelé certains films des Coen. Le déroulement est intéressant et se détache complètement du moule hollywoodien, The Men who Stare at Goats est un film indépendant qui veut aller ailleurs et qui prend son temps pour le faire. Oui il y a des longueurs, pour certains elles seront interminables, alors que pour ma part, j'ai trouvé la progression très maîtrisée et cherchée. On entre dans un univers absurde de façon douce, pas du tout rocambolesque ou ridicule. Le mystère qui plane au fil des événements et qui pousse l'auditeur à ce questionner sur ce qui est réel et ce qui ne l'est pas est remarquablement bien intégré au tout! Pour moi, il s'agit d'une belle petite surprise, ça fait changement, c'est très différent de ce que l'on peut généralement trouver en club vidéo.

Comédie déjàntée à souhait apparemment inspirée de faits réels, The Men Who Stares at Goats s'avère un des films les plus amusants de l'année selon moi. Doté d'une impeccable distribution dominée par George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges et Kevin Spacey, ceux-ci s'en donnent visiblement à coeur dans les rôles de personnages excentriques mais forts attachants au final. Ceci étant dit, la structure non linéaire du scénario et les dialogues pince-sans-rire du film ne plairont pas à tout le monde. Les adeptes des comédies noires des frères Coen (tout particulièrement Burn After Reading) en auront en revanche pour leur argent dans la mesure où ils seront ici en territoire très familier.

Pour ceux qui doutent encore de la véracité de l'histoire, tout ceci est basé sur un livre écrit par Ron Jonhson portant le même nom. Un documentaire nommé "Crazy Rulers Of The World" a d'ailleurs été réalisé il y quelques années. J'ai vu ce documentaire après avoir vu le film et comme le dit la prémisse du film, il y a plus de vrai dans ce film que ce que vous pourriez croire. Un bon film, très divertissant pour quiconque s'intéresse à cette folle institution qu'est l'armée.

Depuis que je commente des critiques c'est la première fois que je donne une note aussi basse, je ne suis généralement pas très difficile en ce qui concerne les films, cependant avec de grands acteurs tel que Kevin Spacey, George Clooney, je suis énormément déçu! Il y a quelques blagues par-ci par-là.. mais sans plus! L'action n'arrive jamais, le film est totalement ABSURDE! Aucun but, aucun sentiment, pour la première fois de ma vie je croyais que j'allais m'endormir devant l'écran. C'est tellement loin de ce que la bande annonce promettait. Trop mais beaucoup trop de longueur et l'attente du décollage du film ne prend jamais son envol! Déçu , Déçu , Déçu.. !!!

Je suis rarement sorti avant la fin d'un film, mais cette fois je me suis fait piéger. Archi nul, sans interet, débile, même pas triste. A éviter absolument même un mardi. Vaut mieux aller se payer une biere avec 5 dollars. D'ailleurs dans les statistiques ceux qui ont mis la vraie note c'est les gars et les filles de 1-12 ans et 13-17 ans a savoir 1. Ça veut tout dire. PS: c'est pas pour dire mais ce n'est pas moi qui avait choisi de voir ce film, mais ma blonde.

Film documentaire camouflé en film historique. Il est absolument exact que plusieurs corps d'armée utilisent les talents psychiques de 1 soldat sur 10 000. Le terme utilisé est Remote Viewing et c'est une sorte de méditation durant laquelle le soldat vit une expérience de sortie du corps dans l'astral ce qui lui permet de faire un travail d'espionnage. Ce type de pouvoir est très instable et difficile à contrôler sur demande surtout s'il est orienté vers une tache négative. L'idée générale du film est de divulguer au public l'agenda secret de certaines factions de l'armée.

Voici un autre excellent exemple de la façon dont une bande-annonce peut annihiler le succès d’un film. Celle-ci s’avérait particulièrement prometteuse. En effet, il est totalement risible d’envisager que l’armée américaine mette sur pied un bataillon dont la compétence repose sur les forces paranormales. Une telle mise en situation s’avérait propice à l’exploitation de scènes aussi invraisemblables que cocasses. Bien sûr, on n’est pas, ici, dans le grand art mais plutôt dans la comédie burlesque. N’empêche, l’idée n’était pas mauvaise. Malheureusement, au terme de la projection, on constate qu’on connaissait à l’avance les meilleurs moments. Quelle déception! Et pourtant, les Clooney, Bridges et Cie s’en donnent à cœur joie, livrant le meilleur d’eux-mêmes dans ce contexte désopilant. Il ne s’agit donc pas d’un navet. Il est probable qu’une promotion plus sobre aurait attiré moins de spectateurs. Cependant, ces derniers auraient peut-être été plus enthousiastes au terme du visionnement. Le bouche à oreilles qui s’en serait suivi aurait-il suffi à générer autant d’entrées? Qui sait … Il me faut donc conclure qu’il ne faut jamais sous-estimer les dangers du marketing-keting. En voulant trop bien faire, les promoteurs se sont tiré dans le pied.

Un peu wannabe frère Coen, mais le film a tout de même son genre. C'est vraiment un genre d'humour qui n'est pas accessible à tous, donc ça peut expliquer les si mauvaises notes attribuées par Monsieur-Madame-Tout-Le-Monde. Quelques longueurs, mais faut dire que j'avais un mal de tête agaçant qui m'empêchait parfois d'apprécier le film. L'absurdité de certaines scènes est délectable. J'ai bien aimé!

C'est la premiere fois que je COTE un film 1... Moi qu'y va au cinéma une fois par semaine, nous étions 5 dans la salle pour un vendredi soir (rare) et après 10 min. L'autre couple s'est levé pour sortie... Peut-être que la version originale anglaise était meilleure... car beaucoup trop de parlotte... pour à rien... C'est surprenant si on se fie à l'excellent casting... Des fois ça arrive... lol.

J'adore Clooney!!! Mais je dois le dire, j'ai jamais été au cinéma avec une salle aussi silencieuse. Comme si on attendait tout le long que "L'Intérêt" du film embarque. J'adore les films comme Life Aquatic et je croyais que les personnes qui critiquaient ce film étaient les mêmes qui critiquaient 'The Men Who Stare at Goats'. Et bien non, un est drôle et intelligent bien qu'absurde. L'autre est, est... un peu plus intéressant que si j'avais moi même du fixer une chêvre durant 1 heure. Puis les jokes de StarWars sur tous les plans. Plus j'y pense, plus je suis déçu.

Un film simplement.. bizarre. D'un côté le propos essentiel du film est peut-être de passer de petits messages sur la guerre d'Irak et ses dérives (les corporations, les prisonniers abusés, les journalistes partenaires de l'armée versus les autres (...)), de l'autre l'aspect central du film est traité étrangement. Tout est présenté de façon à garder une distance, voir une méfiance face aux prétendus pouvoirs des protagonistes, mais le film valse sur le sujet. Au final un film très drôle par moment et souvent simplement bizarre. Assurément pas pour tout le monde (bien des gens risquent d'en ressortir hébétés) mais avec le mérite de raconter quelque chose qui sort un peu des sentiers battus. Comme le soulignent bien des gens, la fin sent le "Oups, comment on conclut? ".

On est en droit de s'attendre à mieux. On aurait pu pousser l'idée beaucoup plus loin. Plusieurs bons flashs mais pas exploités à fond. On a misé sur des acteurs de qualité, toute une brochette en fait. Ils ont visiblement eu du plaisir. Je ne peux pas dire que c'était toujours contagieux. Dommage parce que les histoires d'armée américaine qui a un programme de parapsychologie, il en pleut assez pour faire un million de films carrément tordants à plusieurs degrés d'humour même de l'intelligent, ce qu'a tenté d'être ce film...

Un petit chef d'oeuvre parfaitement dosé qui porte à croire que tout est possible, du moment que c'est fait dans la bienfaisance. Belle critique de la société. Amateurs de premier degré et de box office s'abstenir. Amateurs d'oeuvres savoureuses et intelligentes: vous serez servi!

C'est sur ça ne doit pas plaire à tout le monde, mais perso, j'ai aimé le principe de détourner une ambiance de guerre pour rendre le tout drôle, Les personnages sont pratiquement tous dérangés, le coté hippie/jedi donne de la légereté même si c'est pas toujours marrant, Clooney et Bridge sont magnifiques, même Spacey qui se coltine le role de l'enflure de base est parfois drôle. Good!
