Je sais qu'on ne devrait pas comparer livre et film, ce sont deux médias différents avec chacun leurs forces et leurs faiblesses. Cependant, j'ai lu le livre et j'ai été très déçue du film, qui ne laissait pas du tout transparaître la profondeur du récit. Je suis certaine que même sans attentes, ce film très superficiel m'aurait déçue. Julia Roberts ne m'a fait ressentir aucune des émotions quelle est sensé vivre, et pourtant elle ne manquait pas de matériel. Les pays qu'elle visite sont dépeint dans les couleurs criardes d'Hollywood. Les dialogues sont maladroits. On ne peut pas montrer visuellement une quête spirituelle. Certains livres ne devraient pas être adaptés à l'écran.

Film très inégal. On décroche par moment, car la quête de cette femme qui se questionne sur elle-même devient parfois excessive. Il y a quelques scènes très réussies et de belles apparitions, Richard Jenkins et Javier Bardem, mais en vain... Pas de tout repos cette dame mais quand même magnifique... A quand le prochain questionnement ;-) Insécurité oblige...

Très bon film. Grande actrice. Film aidant à réfléchir sur nos actes passés, apprendre à se pardonner, courage pour affronter nos démons, la solitude, les autres cultures. Détermination à vouloir faire une quête personnelle pour trouver le véritable amour avec une personne qui a vécu les mêmes émotions. Avoir l'argent pour se permettre de tels voyages. Faut prendre le temps de bien l'écouter pour savourer la profondeur. Très beaux paysages. La musique très calmante. Très émouvant par moments lorsque la tristesse était exprimée. Les craintes étaient palpables. Avoir l'argent nécessaire et son courage, je mettrais tout derrière moi pour un avenir meilleur et plus serein. Je pourrais en parler longtemps. J'ai aimé énormément ce film et je n'ai pas eu besoin d'aller au cinéma. Une amie m'a passé le fil et je l'ai regardé seule chez moi, je vais sûrement le regarder une 2e fois.

D'une platitude et d'un vide sidérants. Je me suis tapé ce film "obligée' car j'avais deux amies d'enfance à la maison. J'ai détesté pour en développer de l'urticaire. Elles ont bien aimé, sauf qu'elles ont parlé sans arrêt pendant toute le temps (qui m'a paru des siècles) qu'a duré ce citron de National Geographic. Que Mme. Gilbert ait pu penser un seul instant que sa vie dénuée d'intérêt (et inabordable financièrement pour 99,99 % d'entre nous) puisse nous intéresser est, en partant, tout à fait incompréhensible à mes yeux. Mais que tant de narcissisme et de nombrilisme aussi purs que superficiels aient rendu cette femme multimilionnaire grâce au succès "planétaire" de son livre et de la bleuette qu'on a en tirée me désole profondément sur l'état de notre civilisation.

Le film nous porte a réfléchir sur ce que l'on veut dans la vie. C'est tiré d'une histoire vécue. Ce n'est pas un film a grand déploiment, mais qui nous permet de faire le point sur notre vie... J'ai aimé les décors, le jeu de Julia Robert, mais j'ai trouvé ça long, même très long.

Je crois que pour apprécier ce film, il faut être profond et pas artificiel du tout. Je ne comprends pas les gens qui donnent des notes minables à ce film. Moi je leur mets un gros zéro pour le manque de profondeur et de spiritualité.

J'y suis allée avec ma mère, ma soeur, ma belle soeur et ma marainne et toutes sommes d'accord pour dire que ce film fut fort agréable vu les si beaux paysages et ses petites leçons de vie.

Exceptionellement, j'ai préféré le film au livre. On y va droit au but, moins de questionnements philosophiques. Le rôle va comme un gant à Julia Roberts. Film léger, fait voyager.

Je dois avouer n'avoir pas pu lire le livre que je trouvais d'un ennui incroyable. Pourtant, j'ai aimé le film. Il a suscité de bonne prise de conscience sur la vie, l'amour, les attentes, les inconforts qu'on vit tous à un moment ou l'autre. La très talentueuse Julia Roberts y est sans aucun doute pour quelque chose mais aussi, les superbes paysages dans lesquels évolue le film.

C'est un bon film mais qu'est-ce qu'il a pris à notre sublime Julia Roberts de se refaite la lèvre supérieure? non mais elle était de loin une des plus belles femmes d'Hollywood. Une belle histoire d'amour et les plans en Italie sont super bons, en Inde un peu bizarre.

La ça est un film de femme, mais d'un vraie femme, celle de tous les jours qui se posent des questions réelles comme nous tous... J'ai adoré ce film, on voit une femme tantôt forte et pleine d'ambition et parfois mélancolique et triste... On passe par toutes les émotions dans ce film... Et les paysages, wow, a couper le souffle... j'ai aimé la façon dont elle nous fait voir que les vraies valeurs dans la vie ne sont pas du tout matérielles... mais bien humaines... Bravo... Pas du tout de violence en bonus... Julia Roberts toujours aussi superbe dans ses rôles. San.

Bon, j'ai fait mon « devoir » de chum et suis allé voir le dit film. Un « film de fille » par année pour faire plaisir à sa blonde, c'est le maximum! Cependant, il faut dire que j'avais bien aimé Sex In The City 1. Je dois dire que nous avons été déçus tous deux! Mon amie a donné un 7 et je donne un 6. On peut comprendre l’histoire de cette femme qui veut refocuser sa vie mais c'est plein de clichés spirituels et de clichés de voyage pour les américain(e)s qui voyagent peu ou mal. Les trois pays sont admirablement filmés mais on sent que c'est trop soigneusement placé. Il y a heureusement quelques réflexions et quelques moments touchants (flashback avec son ancien mari) qui font que je n'ai pas donné un 4. Et que dire de madame Roberts. On ne voit que ses lèvres et ses dents... magnifiques mais trop, c'est trop. J’ai trouvé qu'elle « jouait bien » mais c'est ça le problème, on ne doit pas voir que l'actrice joue, on doit embarquer c'est tout! En résumé… un « film de fille » soigneusement emballé, avec tous les ingrédients que les femmes aiment (vous avez le droit!), une histoire correcte sans plus, trop de couchers de soleil et trop de dents! PS : Il m'a semblé, en effet, que la bande sonore était très bien (quand je n’était pas distrait par les lèvres et les dents!)

Un film qui donne le goût de partir à l'aventure, de se reconnecter à la vie, à en profiter, de découvrir la beauté des paysages. Amusant, parfois triste mais Julia Robert touhours attachante et remarquable. Je retourne le voir, trop beau!

J'ai pas vraiment aimé le film, parce que comme tout le monde le dit il y a trop de longueurs pour rien. Par contre le film est "beau" à voir surtout pour les paysages et les différents pays qu'elles visitent. L'histoire est bonne aussi, mais il lui manque quelque chose que je ne saurais expliquer. Le film est comme soit disons fade... bref il manque quelque chose. Je suis en train de lire le livre et on me dit qu'il est beaucoup mieux que le film, mais c'est toujours pareil quand un film est adapté à l'écran... donc allez le voir soit un mardi à 6$ ou sinon attendez le dvd...

J'ai adoré ce film, c'est vrai qu'il est un peu long, 2h30 environ et sans action dans la majorité du temps. Mais peu importe, il est divertissant et totalement renversant. Il nous fait découvrir trois pays qui sont magnifiques, dont un plus que les autres selon moi, Bali! À aller voir absolument!!!

Attendez qu'il sorte en DVD, ce film est long long looong. Il y a de belles images et l'histoire est pas trop mal (mais pas géniale non plus), mais c'est horrible d'aller s'entasser dans une salle pleine pendant 2h30 sans pause pipi pour un film au rythme aussi lent. J'ai attendu impatiemment que le film finisse par finir pour pouvoir enfin sortir de là, coincée que j'étais au milieu de la rangée. Un film à apprécier dans le confort de votre salon! Ou pas du tout!

J'ai été enchanté de voir ce film, parce que j'ai lu le livre et que c'est une adorable de voir le jeu de Julia Robert. Par contre, si je n'avais pas lu le livre mon appréciation serait plus négative, car il manque beaucoup d'image et d'explication de son cheminement vers la spiritualité et la connaissance de soi, contrairement au livre. Mais les paysages sont très beaux et plein de beau mecs... J'avoue que s'il y avait eu plus de développement et de dialogues, et si le film serait une réplique exacte du livre ce serait un excellent film. Ne vous méprenez pas c'est un bon film! Nicole.

Aime bien Julia Roberts.. une belle énergie cette femme.. qui a eu des jumeaux et untroisième enfant... simple et radieuse.. !. nous montre différents aspects de la vie.. épicurienne, spirituelle, et amoureuse.. chacun essait de faire l'équilibre de sa vie à sa façon... avec un brin de folie et de sérieux!..

Un film qui fait réfléchir sur le sens de la vie, du bonheur, de la joie, de la paix... Je ne suis pas toujours d'accord avec les choix posés par Liz mais ça n'enlève rien à la profondeur de sa quête. Les paysages sont magnifiques et l'interprétation des personnages est juste, les acteurs sont excellents dans leur rôle. Ma préférence est pour l'Italie, après un an à Rome je suis tout particulièrement contente d'avoir revu l'espace d'un film la ville éternelle.

Julia Roberts est excellente. Le film est moyen et malgré sa quête vers un mieux-être, tout semble réussir à l'actrice. Tout m'a semblé tellement superficiel! Tous les gens qu'elle rencontre sur son chemin sont gentils aimants aimables généreux etc. etc. Son parcours semble tellement facile et sans obstacle, on dirait un film à l'eau de rose.

Nous avons beaucoup aimé... Le début un peu lent mais nous avons quand même apprécié... tout le long le film a su garder notre intérêt. Voir ce film c'est faire deux voyages, un voyage spirituel et un voyage géographique. L'ITALIE c'est à voir sur place, c'est tellement beau... l'Inde c'est à voir au ciinéma c'est tellement chaud... une amie y revient et elle a été malade une bonne partie du mois... Bali ce semble magnifique. Si vous aimez voyager vous aimerez probablement Mange, prie et aime.

J'ai adoré ce film, c'est un des seuls que je revisionne au cinéma: ce film est basé pour apprendre sur soi-même avec une touche d'humour qui est très apprécié car le film a beaucoup de contenu. J'ai pas vu le temps passer, il es très touchant et nous apprend sur la vie énormément. Je le revois bientôt!

J'adore Julia Robert. Mais dans ce film c'est non merci. Les images sont belles, oui, mais c'est extrêmement long. Environ la moitié de la salle a quitté avant la fin, présentation de 21hrs. Les 3 femmes qui étaient avec moi furent moins tendre. Donc ; BOF.

J'ai été déçue même si généralement, le seul fait de voir un film avec Julia Roberts, vaut à lui seul le coup. Le film est long et même si on s'attendait à un "film de fille" on croyait qu'il y aurait certaines émotions. À part un petit sourire en coin (et une seule fois!).. rien. J'ai vraiment l'impression d'avoir perdu mon temps et mon argent. Dommage.

J'ai l'impression d'avoir un peu gaspillé mon argent et mon temps. J'avais envie d'un film de fille à l'américaine et j'ai été servi, mais je crois qu'un film ne m'avais pas laissé aussi neutre de toute ma vie. L'émotion n'est absolument pas palpable. Julia Roberts est énervante. J'en viens presque à ne pas aimer l'admirable Javier Bardem. Je ne me suis pas régalé, j'ai eu beau prier, mais je n'ai pas aimé.
