Je m'attendais à quelque chose de plus grandiose, mais ça ne fut pas le cas. Cela dit, l'interprète d'Hugo a très bien joué, c'est d'ailleurs cela qui explique la note que je donne.

Images exceptionnelles, et touches historiques sur les débuts des trucages de cinéma. Cela s'ajoute à l'intrigue, fort prenante du début à la fin. Le souci d'authenticité m'a impressionné : même si le film est américain (produit par la Paramount), l'écriture manuscrite (j'ai vu le film à la maison, j'ai fait des arrêts sur image) est présentée en français élaboré (ça se passe à Paris) tout autant que les affiches et enseignes. Cela contraste avec Tintin, qui n'a pas respecté l'original réalisé en français (toutes les écritures (y compris des parchemins) sont en anglais dans Tintin)

Superbe. Mon fils de huit ans et moi avons tous deux adoré. Les valeurs véhiculées, le cours d'histoire du cinéma, tout y était tant pour l'adulte que l'enfant. Quel est le dernier film qui avait plu autant aux enfants et aux parents en même temps? Faudrait que je demande à ma mère pour "ET"... allez le voir pendant qu'il est encore au cinéma, ça doit achever.

Je n'ai encore jamais vu le 3D aussi bien appliqué que dans ce film qui ne fait pas que nous montrer des effets visuels mais aussi nous apprend une histoire touchante avec des acteurs très bien dirigés. Scorsese n'avait encore jamais touché à cette technologie je crois mais il a frappé fort et s'est adjoint une équipe pour nous surprendre par une qualité exceptionnelle d'images et de scénario. Bonne évocation des débuts du cinéma en contrepied avec le 3D actuel... Pour le récit, par contre, on peut être agacé par le côté Dickens du scénario, cruel et dur malgré le 'happy end' convenu. Rien de français dans ce film même s'il se passe à Paris et rend hommage à Mélies! (Paris vu de Londres... encore!) Sasha Baron-Cohen beurre épais, comme d'habitude... En résumé, si vous ne pouvez le voir en 3D chez vous, allez le voir au cinéma sinon, ça peut attendre.

Magnifique fable avec Hugo, garçon de 12 ans basée sur la réalité historique de la triste fin de ce créateur de génie, père du cinéma qu'était Georges Méliès, Scorsese à su nous faire rêver dans le décor architectural d'Effel de la gare Montparnasse du Paris des années 30; en maximisant l'effet 3D et en donnant à ces acteurs des allures de bandes dessinées qu'Hergé aurait pu imaginer!! Le coté fouillé historique avec clin d'oeil aux frères Lumière est du plus grand intérêt dans un contexte ou plus d'un siècle nous sépare déjà de ces moments de découverte des premières images animées qui ont enthousiasmées les premiers spectateurs. Il ne faut pas oublier l'incroyable évolution technologique et artistique de ce que l'on qualifie de 7iem art depuis les premiers films de Georges Méliès, il en a quand même fait plus de 500. À voir et revoir, Merci Mr Scorsese.

Je vais être franche, en regardant le film, je l'aie vraiment aimé! Je trouvais le film très beau et cute, il me faisais un peu penser au film Le Boréal Express! :) Puis, une fois le film terminé, j'y aie repensé et j'ai commencé à y voir plusieurs défauts... Quelques fois, les petites intrigues sont mal placées, quelques fois le contenu est un peu flou et finalement, l'histoire est un peu sans queue ni tête... Malgré tous j'ai vraiment apprécié, il est plein de belles images et je le louerai, une fois sorti en vidéo! :)

Quel beau film! Assurément cité aux Oscars 2011, le nouveau film de Scorsese est un bijou pour les cinéphiles. Alors qu'il s'aventure dans un nouveau genre, l'excellent réalisateur mieux connu pour ses films de gangsters prouve qu'il n'est absolument pas unidimensionnel. Le film s'adresse aux amoureux du cinéma et non aux enfants qui risquent de trouver le temps long un peu. Le rythme est plutôt lent et les interprètes, bien dirigés, livrent la plupart du temps la marchandise surtout Mr. Ben Kingsley, épatant dans le rôle de Méliès. Les effets 3D sont à couper le souffle et la musique très parisienne est extrêmement réussie. À voir!

Le rythme est trop lent. Le jeu de certains acteurs est mauvais. L'histoire d'un petit garçon, l'histoire d'un cinéaste, l'histoire de sa femme, l'histoire du cinéma muet, l'histoire d'une horloge, d'un ancien soldat de guerre... ouf! Trop d'histoires qui sont mal ficelées. On s'entend soupirer et espérer qu'on en finisse. Seul point positif, la teinte utilisée style vieillot pour faire les images du film. Les prises de vue Parisienne sont vraiment belles. Les jeunes enfants vont s'endormir... vous abstenir de les y emporter.

Wow! Quelle belle qualité d'images. On a reproduit dans les moindres détails, l'ambiance d'une gare à Paris au début du siècle. La musique est bonne (genre jazz manouche) L'histoire et intrigue sont bien ficelées, les acteurs sont attachants, que demander de plus. Et en prime on a fait revivre la mémoire d'un grand, du début du cinéma, Georges Méliès. Ce fût un beau moment de cinéma accompagné de ma petite fille Rose.
